About

Hi!  My name is Ann.  I was diagnosed with Celiac Sprue in 2006. For the first few years (okay, maybe 4) I struggled with balancing being Gluten Free and living a normal life.  I've always been adventurous in the kitchen and enjoyed learning how to adapt my favorite recipes and searching the grocery stores for all new gluten free products.  But I hated being stuck with salads when the family wanted to go out to eat, and travelling had become a nightmare- I started to feel like a catering company as I lugged around my all of my gluten free alternatives just so that I could survive a week of breakfast, lunch and dinner at restaurants.  Over time, I started learning tricks about eating out.  I got a few restaurants to carry gluten free beer or soy sauce for me, I learned which restaurants in town would make me a burger on my own bun, and I started to find restaurants who already knew about gluten allergies and had a separate menu for it.

So, I decided to start a blog to share my findings and I invite you to join me on my journey to spread knowledge of Gluten allergies and to find as many ways to make eating out, at home or when travelling as easy as possible.

If you have any restaurant experiences or advice you'd like to share, or you own a restaurant that caters to those of us who avoid gluten, please feel free to email me
